Start your morning here when it's quieter. Rent a vintage Korean school uniform for retro photos along the old industrial tracks, and try dalgona honeycomb candy — a favourite with foreign visitors.

Korea's oldest bakery (est. 1945). Grab the iconic red-bean pastry and vegetable bread, then have lunch at a nearby restaurant before the afternoon history walk.

Begin the afternoon history walk here with its 1930s streetscape reconstruction. The floating pontoon dock (bujanggyo) outside adjusts with the tides — a fascinating piece of colonial-era port engineering.

Filming location of the classic Korean film Christmas in August (1998). A tiny analogue photo studio with enormous nostalgic charm.

Korea's finest preserved Japanese colonial private residence, complete with a tranquil traditional garden — an unexpected sight in a Korean city.

Korea's only remaining Japanese-style Buddhist temple — a serene, atmospheric site unlike anything else in the country. The low, curved rooflines and moss-covered courtyard are beautifully photogenic.

Stroll along the historic inner harbour and sit down for dinner. Try baekdae-gui (grilled Gunsan flatfish, a local speciality) or a fresh seafood platter at one of the harbour-front restaurants.

After dinner, the Mulbit Bridge lights up in brilliant colours over the lake. A romantic lakeside walk that showcases Korea's beautifully lit urban parks at their best.

Drive across the world's longest sea dike (33 km) to reach the Gogunsan Archipelago. The sensation of cruising over open ocean with water on both sides is unlike anything else in Korea.

A stunning beach with clear turquoise water and fine white sand — surprisingly beautiful for a West Sea island. Rent a bicycle here to explore the island at your own pace.

Fly over the sea on a zipline connecting the islands. This is one of Korea's most thrillingly scenic zipline experiences — a must for adventure lovers.

A gentle 20–30 minute staircase climb to the summit of Daejangbong on Daejang Island. The panoramic view of dozens of islands scattered across the Yellow Sea is simply breathtaking — the best photo spot in the archipelago.

A beautifully maintained wooden boardwalk hugging the coastline. The West Sea sunset here — the sky turning deep red over the archipelago — is one of Korea's most spectacular. The perfect way to end the trip.
