2:30 PM · Gangneung's spectacular indoor media art museum — immersive LED forests, waves, and nature installations.

4:30 PM · Specialty coffee with East Sea views at Korea's original coffee beach.

6:30 PM · Lively night bazaar with fried chicken, fish cake croquettes, and pork-kimchi rolls to close day 1.

10:00 AM · Jeongdongjin — the world's closest train station to the sea. Admire the iconic tracks running beside the sand, then walk the 2.86 km Bada Buchae-gil (Sea Fan Trail) — a cliff-top deck path above 2.3-million-year-old coastal geology, where waves crash directly below your feet.

12:30 PM — Lunch · Two Gangwon-do classics: seop-guk (spicy mussel broth stew, the local answer to clam chowder) or ong-shimi — chewy hand-rolled potato dumplings in a comforting soup, served with crispy potato pancakes (gamja-jeon).

2:30 PM · Ojukheon — birthplace of both Sin Saimdang (on the 50,000-won note) and scholar Yi I (on the 5,000-won note). The black bamboo (ojuk) garden is serene and beautiful. Alternatively, nearby Seongyojang is a grander aristocratic estate from the Joseon era worth exploring.

4:30 PM · Drive north for a pilgrimage to two iconic spots. The Goblin drama filming site at Yeongjin Beach breakwater still draws fans for its cinematic coastal views. Just up the road, the BTS album-cover bus stop at Hyangho Beach draws global fans for their own iconic photo.

7:00 PM — Dinner · Jumunjin Harbour's seafood market: freshly steamed East Sea red crab (honge), ultra-fresh sashimi platters, and grilled fish straight off the boats. The perfect grand finale before returning to Gangneung Station for the KTX home.
